Lots of Pictures

We are into the Fall activities...too bad, no one has mentioned to the weather that it's supposed to be cooling down now. My friend Joan has the most beautiful plum tree in her yard. I've already told Mackay that we really need to plant one when we move into a house. She gave me a whole bucket of plums and told me how to make plum jam. So Jess, Mackay and I gave it a shot!

Huzzah.

I've been fighting with my camera all day-hence why we haven't been blogging. But I was determined to triumph. And yes, it is 11:06. Yes, I should go to bed. Yes, L. will probably wake up in 45 minutes to party on, but the pictures are on. I win.

5 Months!

I think that the 5 month mark might just be the greatest milestone in L's life. L. has slept more than 40 minutes...on more than one occasion! We are ABSOLUTELY THRILLED!

Teeth

Well, L. is teething! She is 4 1/2 months, so she's younger than the "average" kid to start teething. One of her front bottom teeth has broken through, so we're just waiting on the second one. We've had a couple of long days and a couple of late nights. She really has been a trooper.

4 months old

We had L's 4 month appointment this week. It's hard to believe that four months have gone by already. She is still in the 25th percentile for both height and weight. Her head is in the 50th.

Memorial Day

We had a brilliant Memorial Day. Mackay and Pat provided the meat for the festivities. Pat is from Louisiana and Mackay wanted to learn how to barbecue. Dangerous.

Just Fun

Summer's here...meaning school is out! We dropped Jess off at the airport. We are sure going to miss her. She makes me laugh so hard. Jess has great hair. These pictures were taken of our last night hanging out together. They pretty much capture our relationship. Yeah. I know there are a lot of pictures. I tried to pick...couldn't do it.

Blessing Pictures

So-it's been about 6 weeks since L. was blessed and the only photos we had of her in her blessing dress was of the poop explosion minutes after the blessing. I took some more photos. It's amazing how much she's changed! Better now than when she can't fit into it anymore. :)

Exam #4

Mackay is taking Exam MFE today. It's A LOT harder for him to study with the new babe. :) Before he just had to worry about me being a distraction, but now between L. and I, we just about make it impossible.

Sweet.

The Jazz played the Nuggets on Friday night for Game 6 of the Playoffs. That was going to be our date-duh. But I wanted to make it more fun, at least for me. And so-I invented Playoff Candyland!

3 Months Old

I can't believe that L. is 3 months old already. Time has flown! She is such a sweetheart. :)

YAY!!

Lillie slept through the night last night! She is a star, she is a champ, and she's my little ladybug. :)

Saturday Outings

Mackay and I try to do something on Saturdays...meaning leaving the apartment. I hate loafing around the house on Saturdays. It drives me bananas. When Mackay is around, I've got someone to tag team with. It's great!

The Zoo

We went to the zoo last weekend. It was brilliantly fun-I love the zoo! I'm sure most of our Spring Break trips to the zoo growing up were instigated by me.

Intervention

So. Today I deactivated my Facebook account. I know. I'm committing social suicide. But really, something had to change.

2 1/2 Months

We had L.'s 2 1/2 month check-up this week. She did great!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Our ham is just about done cooking. Yum! Here is L. in her Easter dress. The lacy bib part is from Italy. Grandma M. made the dress. So pretty! And L. even tolerated her headband for 2 seconds so we could snap a picture.

Quality Weekend

L. was blessed last weekend. Both extended families came out to be there for the big day. We really appreciate everyone who came out!! We had a fantastic weekend. I reserved the church on Saturday, and we lugged the Wii and various board games. Best part? Being able to participate in the basketball and indoor kickball games. It was brilliant to have so many L. holders!!

Love is a Battlefield

Remember that old Pat Benatar song...Love is a Battlefield? You may have thought it was about lovers and "all's fair in love and war." You were wrong. It's about a loving parent trying to get a child to sleep.

Home Again

We are back home. It's good to be back-it was a packed weekend. We went to Salt Lake for a quick trip, Friday through Sunday. The plan was originally to attend Hyrum's wedding, and it snowballed from there. Here are Mackay and L. at the airport. Who would've thought such a tiny person would need so much stuff just for one weekend? And we still had to make a diaper run!

Learning and Adjusting

L. has gotten much better at burping. Or at least I have gotten better at helping her to burp. On Sunday...what is it about the Sundays?...I was feeding her around 9, and she projectile-vomited all over me.

A Cosmic Question

A cosmic question to all of you stay at home Moms...how do you motivate yourself to shower? It seems like showering is last priority, after dishes, laundry, finances, errands, blah, blah, blah. Silly question, but that's where we're at.

A Spit-up Blog

L.'s sleeping...RIGHT NOW! Feel privileged to be apart of this moment-her longest nap today has been 20 minutes long. Woo. In regards to the title, I've wanted to blog for days, but it just doesn't happen. Do not expect organization or cohesion.

A Billion Gold Stars

L. has already infiltrated the secure fortress of Mom and Dad's bed. It took her a week to figure out where the best bed was.

One Week Old :)

One week old and we've lived to tell the tale. Well, it's really not that dramatic. I'm still sore, but I'm slowly making progress to get off the pain medication. Our week has been a mix of 1 Nephi 3:7 (Go and Do) and OJT (on-the-job training). Things we've discovered from these principles:
